Troyka Hotel Moscow, Moscow

I had a fantastic view of the Basil Cathedral and Kremlin from my ground-level room, even though it was close to a busy road. However, the room had a strange smell despite booking four months in advance for a standard single room.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of pros and cons. The rooms were quite hot, but very spacious. Unfortunately, I couldn't control the temperature, which I like, so it was a bit uncomfortable. On the upside, the location was excellent, with important sites nearby, but the neighborhood could get noisy with a nearby night club. The service was generally friendly and helpful, although sometimes a bit impersonal in a post-Sovietic way.
